Plant Features: Succulent flowering plants which can grow up to 40 cm. long. They can be planted on pots or as ground cover. Purslanes are early morning plants that literally greet you as you wake up. In the afternoon the leaves are slowly closing as if they patiently wait for the next day.
Flowers: Most common purslane flower is colored yellow. It has 5 petals which blooms everyday together with the leaves under the early bright sun until near noon time. Then they close in the afternoon as if resting.
Care: Purslane needs full sun especially at the early morning. Water sparingly as it will wither when over watered. Containers must have good drainage.
Propagation: Can be grown from cuttings. Just snip from a mature stem then stick it to the soil and water sparingly.
